May 6th, 2025. Mark it down — Rockstar Games dropped Trailer 2 for Grand Theft Auto 6. And even though the release got pushed to May 2026 (ugh), this new look gave us plenty to freak out over.

From returning mechanics to massive new areas, here are 10 discoveries from the trailer that every GTA fan should know.

1. Dual Protagonists, Confirmed-ish

We’re riding with both Lucia and Jason. Jason’s front and center this time — buff, laid-back, and giving Carl Johnson vibes. Lucia brings that edgy intensity. Together, they’re straight-up Bonnie and Clyde — GTA-style.

2. Leonida = Rockstar’s Version of Florida

We already knew Vice City was back, but now we’ve got:

• Port Ghorn – sketchy rednecks and backwoods biker chaos.
• Leonida Keys – think party boats, retirees, and reef diving.
• Grass Rivers – gators and deep swamp energy.
• Ambrosia – industrial grime and outlaw territory.
• Mount Kalaga – pure Red Dead Redemption 2 wilderness vibes.

3. Robberies Are the New Heists

Gone are the days of GTA V-style heists. Now? We’re getting full-blown Heat-inspired bank robberies. Bonus: there’s a mysterious cop who might be an actual character in the story (or maybe even a third protagonist?).

4. TV Segments Are Back

Remember flipping channels in GTA IV? That weird-ass Ammu-Nation commercial mid-trailer looks like in-game TV — and it might hint at more satire-heavy content like we saw in GTA V’s Weazel News.

5. Guns, Jets, and… a Fishing Rod?

Trailer 2 confirms all the usual suspects: MP5s, AR-15s, Berettas, grenade launchers. Even an attack helicopter. But then there’s a shot of Jason holding a fishing rod. Florida makes it possible. Let’s go.

6. Airboats and Vault-Chases

New vehicles include jet skis, airboats, and even a jumbo 747. There’s a scene straight out of Fast Five with a vault being dragged through the city.

7. Hijacking on the Move?

Jason jumps off a bike onto a truck. Then he’s jumping onto a moving car hood. If this isn’t just cutscene fluff, we might be getting dynamic vehicle hijacks.

8. New Faces to Watch

Let’s break down the new characters teased:

• Real Dimes – pop star? Party girl?
• Raul Batista – intense, heavy-hitter vibe.
• Daquan Priest – seen in a recording studio.
• Cal Hampton – likely comic relief, possibly Lamar 2.0.
• Brian Heder – criminal OG, voiced by Steven Root.
• Booby Ike – boss energy.

9. Customization: Haircuts, Muscles, Maybe More?

Jason has different hair in different shots. Then we see him weightlifting. Could this mean San Andreas-style body customization is back?

10. Trash Pickup Minigames Are Back?!

Lucia’s rocking a yellow vest. Then there’s a roadside cleanup shot. Looks like community service minigames are a thing — similar to GTA V’s port work or janitor stuff.

Final Thoughts: This Game Is Going to Be Ridiculous

No raw gameplay yet — classic Rockstar — but we got:

• Gorgeous locations
• Explosive action
• Funny and gritty character moments
• And it’s all running on base PS5 hardware
